The things I keep around. Keys to old apartments in New York, including what used to be my own. Why keep a key that doesn't open any doors? Mercy. This is why I have clutter. Materials: keys, copper wire, rayon ribbon.
Great variety of shapes here--I love the curves of the wire and how that contrasts with the sharp corners of the keys. There's a lot of power in a ring of keys, the jangling sound they make. All those secrets waiting to be unlocked . . .
On a side note, I've started using my LJ profile for comments--I don't know why I didn't think to use it before . . . :)
This is my attempt, (and it will either kill me or cure me!) to step away from my commercial training in costume jewelry. To develop a way of creating that is more of a meditation, a practice. One necklace, every day for a year.
