A little more recycling with the mirror scraps. Inspired by all the frost this morning, I had to use some cold colors.
Materials: acrylic mirror, cotton thread, rayon ribbon.

I have a lot of acrylic mirror scraps from recent projects so they might as well get used....
Materials: acrylic mirror, cotton thread, silk, glass bead.

More work with the acrylic sheet. Kind of reminds me of sunglasses in some way, maybe it's the weight of the plastic.
Materials: acrylic sheet, silk, linen.

Found a knife on the street. They say if you drop a knife on the floor you're going to get a visitor. I don't know what it means if you find one outside, I'll keep you posted anyway....
Materials: found knife, acrylic cord, copper wire, shantung silk.

The wooden piece with the needle hitching is something that has been hanging around my work table for months now. I think this is my first successful disc in my wood turning adventures. Anyway, I was never sure of what to do with it until this morning until I took it on with with my first thing in the morning brain, and this makes me happy I'm still doing this project as this feels like a good solution that I wouldn't have come to unless I put in the time to make my craft more like some kind of a meditation.
Materials: scrap leather, turned cherry wood, linen cord freshwater pearl, rayon ribbon.

Another ruby treasure found on the street, I used the same cord as the last one because I really like those colors together...
Materials: found taillight, copper wire, rayon chenille yarn, sliced agate.

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a recycled Superman cup! I'm glad this is no longer in service, I got a seriously plastic smell on my hands hitching this up...
Materials: found plastic shards, cotton cord, felted wool ball.

This is another early carving I did when I didn't know what I was doing. I like reviewing the work I've done last year. Especially in this way. I like tying up loose ends. Literally and figuratively.
Materials: hand carved wood, acrylic cord, rayon ribbon.

This was an experiment in needle hitching, an old sailors knotting technique. It came out pretty loose so I wove back into it with the yellow thread. I'm slowly liberating my work desk from all those motherless children I never had a home for. It's like voicing a thought that hasn't quite formed itself yet.
Materials:linen and cotton threads, glass and wooden beads.

These I found by the movie theater, exactly in this arrangement. I guess they were showing Avatar. The good thing about this necklace is that you are 3-D ready whenever you wear it. Although everything's in 3-D anyway once you're out of the theater.
Materials: found 3-D glasses linen and acrylic cords, rayon ribbon.

Last day of purple. I've been through the whole rainbow now. I hope that was as nice for everybody as it was for me. The heart in the center is another treasure harvested from the street. You never know what you'll find until you look.....
Materials: scrap leather, linen and acrylic cords, soutache, recycled plastic heart.

I didn't think I had another green necklace in me today, especially after yet one more winter storm. I'm going for a crocus like mindset. Just pushing through whether the snow has melted or not. I like how this turned out kind of ballerina-ish. I had a mighty tutu fascination as a kid.
Materials: recycled key lime produce bags, cotton cord, rayon ribbon.

Piece of drift wood that was kicking around the studio. I just drilled it and did some needle hitching to the back.
Materials: driftwood, acrylic cord, glass beads.
