My first foray into doily making. It's a bit on the chunky side, but I did manage to figure out this fan/scallop type stitch that I've wanted to know how to do for a long time now. So I'm pleased about that at least. Materials: cotton thread, freshwater pearl, copper wire, acrylic cord.
nice shape and the purple is a nice grandma doily color...(or at least my grandma who used bargain basement colors like bittersweet brown, dark purple, mint green, and acid yellow)
I think I have all those colors! I'm continuing my studies and can even read crochet patterns now, which is great as there are all these old patterns for free online...
This is my attempt, (and it will either kill me or cure me!) to step away from my commercial training in costume jewelry. To develop a way of creating that is more of a meditation, a practice. One necklace, every day for a year.
