Some beautiful hydrangea a dear friend brought over. They looked like they were getting over being in a vase and I wanted to document their utter loveliness, even in decay. All love all the stages of flowers, I've been known to keep some dire specimens around for ages, just to admire them as they are.
Materials: flowers, rayon ribbon.

  1. Wow, they do still look good! I love how you paired the black satiny ribbon with the deep blue, purple, and green. It makes a dramatic statement. Also, the commentary on valuing things at all stages of their existence really strikes a chord with me. I love old, abandoned houses and dried roses and other things that have supposedly "outlived" their usefulness. Our culture focues so much on things at one stage of their existance but ignores or deplores them at other stages. I like your willingness to look at objects with a new perspective. Your Dear Friend :)
